PRESS RELEASE

Palazzo Vecchio, Florence 16th September, 2011

‘Menarini Baby’, bringing mother and child together in the workplace. As part of the company’s 125th celebrations, Menarini has decided to give both working mothers and the city of Florence, a tangible sign of just how much they care about the needs of those women who have to reconcile the time they dedicate to raising a family and that dedicated to their professional careers.

The project for a company crèche, ‘Menarini Baby’, was presented to members of the press and media this morning in the Town Hall by the City’s Mayor, Matteo Renzi, and Lucia Aleotti, member of Menarini’s Administrative Committee.

The crèche will be built in premises within the Menarini Headquarters in Campo di Marte and will provide day care for up to 40 children. A number of places will be also be reserved for children coming from families of the general public.

‘Menarini Baby’, a project which has been ‘nurtured’ for some time, will become a fun place where children can play joyfully, both inside and out, and which will be welcoming the first groups of children at the beginning of the next school year 2012/2013.

Children and babies ranging from 3 months to 3 years of age will be welcomed to this completely new structure to be built upon a plot of land which is already part of company premises and which will cover a total of 570 square metres (450 square metres inside and 120 square metres of open air space).

The Menarini Group will be investing more than 1 million Euro in building the crèche whilst the day to day management of the centre will be taken care of by qualified personnel to be chosen through public selection.

"Being able to present this project for the building of a company crèche is a source of pride and joy. It is a dream come true, made possible thanks to an important and precious co-operation with the council of Florence who have both encouraged and supported us. We believe that this project is of high social value for the city of Florence and will represent the best possible solution for those "working mums" who have to reconcile their professional careers with the delicate and profound task of raising young children." Commented Lucia Aleotti, member of Menarini’s Administrative Committee.
