Menarini: a gift to the Misericordia Campo di Marte to give life to their new ‘home’

Florence, 10th December 2021 - Menarini has chosen to support the historic Misericordia Campo di Marte San Pietro Martire, through a donation towards the building of their new 'home'. It will be a completely eco-sustainable building, close to where their current operations centre is, in Florence’s Quartiere 2, the same area where the multinational pharmaceutical company is based. The construction of the building is already underway and, thanks to this new, over 300 square metre building, the association will soon be able to provide a greater number of services to the public.

"We wish to continue to be close to both those who take care of providing first aid but also those in need of this very important service - said Lucia and Alberto Giovanni Aleotti, shareholders and board members of Menarini - the mission of our company is to improve the life of patients, and making a donation towards this new building, and giving life to a construction to be used daily for the benefit of everyone’s health, is, for us, one of the  most practical ways of contributing towards the all-important work carried out by the Misericordia Campo di Marte ".

The expansion of the headquarters, the completion of which is estimated for the end of April 2022, will allow the Misericordia to offer a wider and more complete range of services requested by the public every day: new spaces for doctors’ offices, advice services for the vulnerable or victims of  violence, a new leisure centre for the elderly, and rooms where first aid courses for members of the public can be held. At the same time, the move to the new building will allow some of the rooms in the current headquarters to be dedicated entirely to volunteers.

At present, the Misericordia Campo di Marte has 250 volunteers, 9 employees, 18 vehicles, and guarantees the provision of 14,000 services each year. "We are delighted that Menarini has generously donated towards the construction of our new building, the so-called 'Casamise' - declared Alberto Locchi, President of the Misericordia Campo di Marte San Pietro Martire –to have such a prestigious company by our side fills us with a sense of pride and security in managing our constant growth. The Misericordia Campo di Marte, just like Menarini, has always been close to the members of the public and I am certain that our new headquarters will not only be frequented by Florentines but will also become a reference point for those who find themselves in difficulty.”
