A mucolytic containing ambroxol hydrochloride indicated for the treatment of productive cough


Ambroxol acts by regulating the transport of secretion along the respiratory tract. It also has marked mucolytic activity and is a mucus regulator. Pharmacologically it acts on the quality of mucus.


Adults: Begin treatment by taking 10 ml 3 times a day, followed by 5 ml 3 times a day.
Children up to the age of two: 2.5 ml twice daily;
from two to five years: 2.5 ml 3 times a day;
over five: 5 ml 3 times a day.
Each ml of syrup is equivalent to 3 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride.
Each bottle of syrup is supplied with a 5 ml measuring spoon with notches corresponding to 1/2 and 1/4.
The syrup should be taken during or after main meals.

Active ingredient: 300 mg of ambroxol hydrochloride
Excipients: Benzoic acid, glycerol 85%, sorbitol solution 70%, Hydroxyethylcellulose, raspberry aroma, purified water.

Precautions for use

MUCOARICODIL should not be given to patients with hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or to one of the excipients or to patients with serious hepatic and/or renal impairment. The syrup contains sorbitol and is therefore contraindicated for patients with hereditary fructose intolerance. Generally contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
