Kids and School. A tangible commitment.
Almost every year our Companies need to renew some of their computers in order to keep pace with ongoing technological updating.
The laptops, which are in perfect working order, are generally reutilised internally and assigned to various departments.
In 2008, however, through an agreement drawn up between Menarini and the Florence Provincial Authority, 625 laptops were donated, thus enabling the Provincial Authority to meet the continual requests from secondary schools and charitable associations.
Furthermore, over recent years we have also managed to supply computers to a community centre in Sri Lanka, 30 km from the capital Colombo, currently managed by a former Menarini employee.
In Sri Lanka it is difficult to acquire the requisite technological know-how to find a job, since the cost of studying is excessive in comparison to the per capita income, frequently only sufficient for basic necessities.
Menarini’s commitment has permitted the construction of an IT laboratory, and the subsequent organisation of basic computer courses for over 400 students!
