Fair Play Menarini – The Champions Tell their Stories, the sporting stars are ready to light up Palazzo Vecchio

The wait is almost over. Tomorrow, Saturday 30 November, marks the day of the long-awaited talk show Fair Play Menarini – The Champions Tell their Stories. The thoughts and anecdotes of the legends of sports, models of fair play and loyalty, will be shared at the event held at the symbolic location of Florence’s Palazzo Vecchio, which will open its doors to the iconic Salone dei Cinquecento, at 5 pm, in the presence of the city’s mayor, Sara Funaro.

The Italian Olympic Committee will take part in the talk show, represented by Silvia Salis, the Committee’s acting vice president and former hammer throw champion, a sport in which she won ten Italian titles. Athletics will bring us the story of Andy Diaz, the triple jump champion who won his first Olympic medal wearing Italian colours at the Paris 2024 Games, and of his coach and friend, Fabrizio Donato, a bronze medal winner in the triple jump at the London 2012 Games. The star-studded parade continues with Rigivan Ganeshamoorthy, who won gold in the discus throw at the last Paralympic Games in Paris, while downhill skiing will be represented by Giuliano Razzoli, gold medal winner in the slalom at the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics. Football serves up a legend like Javier Zanetti, the unforgettable captain of Inter Nazionale and the Argentinian team. Borja Valero, the Spanish midfielder who became an icon for the Fiorentina team, has also accepted the call-up by Fair Play Menarini Foundation. Volleyball can count on a historical name like Andrea Zorzi, two times World champion with Italvolley, and on an up-and-coming star like Ekaterina Antropova, Olympic gold medal winner at the Paris 2024 Games. Lastly, the emotion-packed stories of Federico Buffa will contribute to making this a truly unique evening.
