An evening dedicated to sport, courage and Fair Play, celebrating those who know how to win without cheating, relying only on their natural abilities, without ever giving in. 

The 23rd Menarini International Fair Play Awards will take place in Florence tomorrow, 3 July 2019. 

As title sponsor of the event, the Menarini Group will honour the winners with a gala dinner, against the backdrop of one of the most beautiful views in the world, Piazzale Michelangelo. Menarini Board Members Alberto Giovanni and Lucia Aleotti and Eric Cornut, Chairman of Menarini, will be there to host champions and institutions. 

This year’s winners feature champions such as Brazilian football player Arthur Antunes Coimbra (Zico), volleyball player Andrea Giani, basketball player Georgi Glushkov and biathlon champion Dorothea Wierer. Celebrated Italian swimmer Manuel Bortuzzo will light up the evening with his smile, all the stronger for surviving a traumatic event earlier this year, making him a role model for all. 

“Menarini’s support for this event, which is one of a kind in the world, is founded on its desire to act as a sounding board for the beautiful and fundamental values at the heart of the sport world and which are often forgotten in achieving a win”, said Alberto Giovanni Aleotti, Menarini Board Member. “Menarini aims to celebrate the endeavours of the awarded champions so that they may be an example for young people everywhere, not only in sport, but in daily life as well”.

The 23rd Menarini Fair Play Awards continue on Thursday, 4 July in Valdichiana and will culminate with the awards ceremony in Castiglion Fiorentino. The event will be recorded and broadcast live by Sport Italia and will be available on digital terrestrial channel 60 and on Sky channel 225.
