FLORENCE, 17 June 2024 – The appointments with the Fair Play Menarini International Award continue. Following the announcement at the CONI headquarters of the winners of the 28th edition, the time has come to present the Special Fiamme Gialle “Study and Sport” Award. Set up in collaboration with CONI Tuscany and the Sports Division of the Italian Finance Police (known as the “Fiamme Gialle”), this award is presented every year to young champions who have distinguished themselves by achieving excellent results both in their chosen sport and their studies.

The winner of the 2024 edition is the roller skating champion from Livorno, Agnese Mori, who was presented with the award during the press conference which took place this morning in the Sala Pegaso of Palazzo Guadagni Strozzi Sacrati, the headquarters of the Regione Toscana, in the presence of the President of the Regione, Eugenio Giani, the Mayor of Fiesole, Cristina Scaletti, and the Councillor for Sport of the Municipality of Florence, Cosimo Guccione.

I am delighted to present this award to Agnese Mori, a budding talent in Italian and European artistic roller skating whose name, from now on, will appear in the Fair Play Menarini Hall of Fame said Eugenio Giani, President of the Regione Toscana This year’s edition of the Fair Play Menarini International Award, with a wealth of men and women whose successes and careers have exemplified the highest values of sports ethics, reinforces the already strong link between the Fair Play Award and the region of Tuscany”.

Today’s press conference was also an opportunity to take stock of the upcoming edition. Once again this year, Florence and Fiesole are hosting sporting legends who have exemplified the high values of fair play throughout their careers.

The name of the young athlete, Agnese Mori, shines bright alongside the sporting stars who will be honoured in July. Born in 2004, Agnese triumphed in the 2022 European Artistic Skating Cup at Roccaroso, just a few months prior to achieving top marks – 100/100 – in her school-leaving diploma from the High School of Human Sciences. Through the Special Fiamme Gialle “Study and Sport” Award, the athlete of the Circolo Polisportivo La Rosa A.S.D club in Livorno, will be given the opportunity to train at the Sports Division of the Italian Finance Police in Castelporziano, along with two other Award finalists: the promising basketball player, Guido Pellegrini, and the champion inline speed skater, Alessandro Cosentino.
