SediMAX, A. Menarini Diagnostics' latest urine analyser, takes traditional manual microscopy to new levels of automation and efficiency. This fast, user-friendly, highly reliable analyser utilises the latest in high-tech digital imaging to the traditional microscopy examination process that is still essential for the diagnosis of a large number of diseases.

Thanks to its built-in microscope and image processing software, it is able to identify a wide range of particles, making a statistical count of the particles in each sample and providing a global interpretation of the results.

While sediMAX does all the work with outstanding reproducibility and accuracy (up to 80 samples/hour), the operator can concentrate on other laboratory tasks. After testing, a user-friendly PC interface and a fully accessible database containing all the images allows for review of samples flagged by the system and re-evaluation of the samples on the screen.

The images displayed on the screen are very similar as those observed by manual microscopy, i.e. whole view-fields of the sample, with the possibility of zooming in on single particles for clarification. This unique feature enables more than one operator to view the monitor and discuss the images at the same time. It can also be used for teaching and training purposes.
