Relying on a time-honoured experience, in 1976 the
A. Menarini IFR Group established the A. Menarini Diagnostics in order to respond to the growing need for diagnostic tests and preventive medicine.

TUV Certification

After concentrating its initial activities on marketing instruments imported from Japan and the United States, in 1981 A. Menarini Diagnostics succeeded in producing instruments and reagents of its own, supported by a Quality Control laboratory capable of guaranteeing the systems beeing produced and distributed.

The in-vitro diagnostics (IVD) fields where the Italian subsidiary currently operates are:

- Clinical Chemistry (with “dry” and “wet” technology) for the automatic dosage of haematic and urinary parameters
- Diabetes (both in “self testing” and laboratory systems)
- Immunology (specialising in the field of immunohistochemistry and of autoimmunity)
- Immunohaematology (for blood-grouping)
- Haematology (cell counting)
- Point-of-care treatment (POCT)

A. Menarini Diagnostics’ continuous commitment has aided them in attaining the TUV Product Service of Munich certification in 1997, thanks to the quality standards ISO 9002 ISO 13488 and EN 46002.
A recognition achieved by A. Menarini Diagnostics’ in its undertaking to reach and maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction. In July 2003 the company accomplished the ISO 9001: 2000 ISO 13485 certification.
