What is an adverse drug reaction?

An adverse reaction is a noxious and unintended effect resulting from the use of a medicinal product:

  • in accordance with the indications contained in the marketing authorization, or
  • not in accordance with the indications contained in the marketing (including overdose, misuse, abuse, medication errors), or
  • associated with occupational exposure.

What does Pharmacovigilance mean?

Pharmacovigilance has been defined by the World Health Organization as the science and activities relating to the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse effects or any other medicine-related problem.

What should I do if I suppose I experienced an adverse drug reaction?

You should advice with your attending physician (providing all the available details about the event and your medical history) before taking any action.

Furthermore, in order to collect information on any suspect adverse drug reaction and perform Pharmacovigilance activities, Menarini Group Companies are available to be contacted through the dedicated form.

If you think you experienced a suspect adverse drug reaction with a drug marketed by Menarini, please report it by clicking here.
